Marrian Farm Tour

Marrian Farm Tour aims to unite groups of school children and people from retirement and old age homes every Saturday. By helping two diverse groups to spend their time on the farm, relaxing together, keeping each other company, and sharing their stories, aspirations and experiences, we aim to provide an experience that is enriching for the children, and nostalgic and joyful for the elderly. In short, learning from each other and learning for life.

The tour destination is the Marrian Farm (Kozhinjampara) in Palakkad, which began its journey in 2018 as an integrated farm growing coconut and areca nut palms, a variety of fruits, flowers, vegetables, creepers, tuber crops, poultry and cattle. It also started aquaculture practices and created Kerala’s second-largest pond in a 1-acre land.

Successful integrated organic farming and water from fish farms were used to irrigate 100 varieties of exotic fruits, 45 varieties of veggies, areca nuts, and coconut trees. The Marrian Farm has become a training and production centre for the rural people, students and others.

The farm tour will also be an educational tour for everyone – visual and experiential in learning about birds and animals, cattle and fowls, fruits and vegetables, and fish – certainly fish, for that is in abundance in our ponds – tilapia, Indian major carp, Basa, Murrel – feeding them, watching them and learning everything about them.

Fun and entertainment cannot be missing from a tour of this sort – there is the kids’ play zone, the casual quiz time with prizes and talents expo, and a delicious lunch prepared for our young and old visitors. Everything is at the expense of the Marrian Foundation from the moment we pick them up at their residence or school until we drop them back in the evening.

Marrian Farm Tour aligns with several SDGs, including:

SDG 1: No Poverty

SDG 2: Zero Hunger

SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being
SDG 4: Quality Education

SDG 5: Gender Equality

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

Marrian Farm Volunteering

The Marrian Foundation hosts farm volunteering opportunities for volunteers to achieve a social impact, environmental stewardship, cultural exchange, and community development. This initiative aligns with the foundation’s goals of creating meaningful experiences and fostering global connections while supporting sustainable practices.

By inviting volunteers to participate in hands-on farming activities, the program enhances agricultural productivity and educates participants on environmentally friendly techniques. This initiative aims to create a meaningful connection between volunteers and local communities, empowering individuals and promoting a culture of sustainability.

Through this program, the Marrian Foundation seeks to positively impact local economies and support community development. Volunteers will be able to contribute to various projects, including the Marrian Study Centres and The Nurture Project. Combining agricultural work with community outreach, the Marrian Farm Volunteering initiative is a testament to Marrian Infra's commitment to social responsibility and global citizenship.

Marrian Farm Volunteering aligns with several SDGs, including:

SDG 1: No Poverty

SDG 2: Zero Hunger

SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being
SDG 4: Quality Education

Marrian Social Services

The Marrian Social Services aim at reaching out with professional skills and management in the following five areas:

a) legal services, especially to institutions and families in need of immediate legal help;
b) health services in the form of ambulance services to the people in the rural areas;
c) support and aid to single mothers, especially those hailing from outside the city and the state;
d) support and aid to migrant students and workers, focusing on those who happen to come into the state for the first time;
e) support to NGOs for putting up and updating their infrastructure.

Legal aid is often unavoidable, costly, and uncertain. However, Marrian Infra’s experience with legal procedures, along with the support of legal experts, equips the Marrian Foundation to offer effective legal assistance and see each case through to a successful resolution. This is also an ideal opportunity to educate our beneficiaries on essential legal steps that, if followed, can help minimise or even prevent future legal complications.

Modern healthcare often begins with a race to the hospital in an ambulance, but what follows is even more critical. Choosing the right hospital for the patient’s specific needs, one that is affordable, dependable, and accessible, is a decision best guided by experts. This is where the Marrian Foundation’s ambulance services stand apart. Our services are readily available, free or affordable, and closely linked to a trusted network of doctors and hospitals. Whether it’s a safe return home after recovery or supporting a grieving family in difficult times, we’re with them every step of the way.

Single mothers, whether abandoned by their spouses or families, often face heartbreaking circumstances, especially those struggling to survive alone in rented spaces or seeking shelter for themselves and their children. The Marrian Foundation is committed to supporting them with safe housing, nutritious food, and emotional care. Our goal is to help them rebuild their lives by guiding them toward suitable employment and long-term stability, one step at a time.

For many migrant students and workers, arriving in a new state, especially a bustling city like Bengaluru, can be overwhelming. Language barriers, cultural differences, and the challenge of finding initial accommodation often make the transition difficult. The Marrian Foundation, through its strong network and professional approach, strives to make this first experience welcoming and stress-free. We aim to help them become self-reliant within six months, empowering them to, in turn, support others from their regions who face similar challenges.

Some NGOs, while selflessly serving those without support, often struggle with limited resources and operate on a hand-to-mouth basis. Many cannot afford the essential infrastructure needed to care for their beneficiaries with dignity. The Marrian Foundation aims to extend a helping hand to such NGOs, enabling them to meet basic standards of care expected by society and the state. Our support will be offered as and when needed, based on specific situations and requirements.

Marrian Social Services aligns with several SDGs, including:

SDG 1: No Poverty

SDG 2: Zero Hunger

SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being

SDG 5: Gender Equality

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
